The blend is 58% Pinot Noir and 42% Chardonnay, with 31% of the wine aged in oak barrels and without malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness and tension.
The Cristal was created in 1876 by Louis Roederer for Tsar Alexander II of Russia, who desired an exclusive and elegant champagne. To meet his demands, Roederer produced an exceptional cuvée in a clear crystal bottle, symbolizing purity and luxury.
Louis Roederer is known for its philosophy of working its own vineyards and its commitment to quality. Louis Roederer owns a large portion of its vineyards (around 70%), which allows it exceptional control over the quality of the grapes.
